Reducing environmental impact and protecting ecosystems and biodiversity are essential actions that concern all, whether individuals or companies. Marzotto is committed to these actions on a daily basis, ensuring that its industrial activities and its investments contribute to achieving increasingly higher and tangible environmental sustainability.
What do we actually do for the environment?
By controlling and progressively reducing water and energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and waste production, we prefer and promote the use of eco-compatible products.
We contribute to spreading awareness on issues concerning environmental prevention throughout the supply chain and the value chain.
By controlling and reducing the demand for energy from traditional sources, we contribute to reducing atmospheric pollution by using renewable energy sources, also through the installation of a 630 kW photovoltaic system, the upgrading of which is constantly being studied.
We ensure sustainable procurement of raw materials, from receipt through to disposal of production waste; we identify and assess environmental, social and economic impacts, both direct and indirect, throughout the entire supply chain; we promote actions of mitigation, improvement and development to support people and their environment.

Recent ISO 14001 certification is the formalisation of a path that Marzotto has been following for many years, with the aim of constantly improving its environmental management system.
Through awareness-raising, information and training initiatives, we involve our employees and collaborators in environmental issues and methods for reducing the environmental impact of their activities.
Constant supervision of all activities concerning Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability is guaranteed through the company’s Safety and Environment Department, which coordinates the monitoring of all sustainable projects and the application of policies and guidelines with a Dynamic Management System. This system is implemented in each single corporate process and across all departments.

TRACEABILITY
From sheep to fabric: tracing means knowing and respecting
We choose only farmers who rear their own sheep ethically, ensuring good quality of life for the animals. Partnership with the world’s best wool producers allows us to guarantee the entire supply chain, and also to create bespoke projects for all customers wishing to certify the ethical origins and spirit of their product.
Social Responsibility
The well-being of a company is closely linked to the well-being of the people who work in it.
In addition to fundamental respect for workers’ rights, for trade union agreements and for the principles on which the system for the protection of workers are based, ever since the early years of the twentieth century Marzotto has been committed to supporting the families of its workers. In fact, this was the period in which it established the first “Social City”, an innovative district with houses for its employees, services for its workers and their families and cultural and sporting activities for their free time. Today, just as in the past, Marzotto ensures that all workers have the same employment and professional development opportunities, guaranteeing fair treatment based on criteria of merit and protects the health and safety of all its employees.
