GUANACO

EXQUISITE BY NATURE

The guanaco is a camelid native to South America and common in Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. It's an undomesticated mammal which lives in the wild. The fleece consists of straight, silky hairs without innervation and non-woolly to the touch.  Under the microscope, the fibre is similar to Vicuña, but varies in terms of colour and fineness. This is an extremely fine, soft and silky wool, in colours ranging from light chestnut  to dark brownThe guanaco has a double fleeceThe outer part is coarser and the inner is softer. The colour of the coat varies from one animal to the next. It ranges from light chestnut to dark cinnamon, with white highlights on the underside.
