Marzotto is proud to present its new project in partnership with Polygiene, leader in the biomedical sector, already a supplier of treatments for masks and gowns, for the use of the innovative ViralOff® treatment.

Through the collaboration between Marzotto Group and Polygiene it was possible to adapt the antiviral treatment, ViralOff, to be used on fabrics produced with natural fibers, such as wool, linen and cotton.

The treatment, developed by Polygiene, for Influenza A BirdFlu, Norovirus and SARS, allows to reduce in very short time more than 99% of viruses that could rest on the surface of the tissue. The performance of the product is guaranteed and tested under the ISO18184:2019 standard.

"We tested ViralOff, on different fabrics, with different compositions and we are very happy with the result. We thank the Polygiene team for their support," says Giorgio Todesco, CEO of Marzotto Wool Manufacturing, and continues: "We now run trials to ensure treatment resistance even after multiple water and dry washes."

“Consumers have changed behaviors and the demand for garments protected from viruses is huge. Some countries now require retailers to sanitize clothes after trying. We also know consumers are wary when shopping. ViralOff protects the garment, as well as reduces the need to wash and thereby prolongs the lifetime of the garment. Marzotto’s new offer will redefine standards in fashion” says Ulrika Björk, CEO of Polygiene.

Marzotto will use the ViralOff® treatment exclusively worldwide.
